🔴 UPDATE 002 – MAURITIUS SECURITY SITUATION
Tuesday 13 October 2026 | 3:40 p.m.
The security situation remains under close national attention this afternoon, with additional precautionary measures now being taken.
🚌 Public transport – Government 6:00 p.m.; RHT 5:00 p.m.
Following the special Cabinet meeting, the Government decision is for public transport services to stop at 6:00 p.m. today. Separately, Rose Hill Transport (RHT) has communicated that its own bus services will stop earlier, at 5:00 p.m.
Passengers should therefore distinguish between the national 6:00 p.m. public-transport cutoff and RHT’s earlier 5:00 p.m. operational cutoff, and should plan their return journey as early as possible.

⚠️ CURRENT ASSESSMENT
The authorities have clearly moved to a higher precautionary posture for this evening. The Government’s 6:00 p.m. public-transport cutoff, together with RHT’s earlier 5:00 p.m. closure and the emergency Cabinet meeting, are important developments.
At the time of this update, I have not found verified evidence of a new generalised nationwide escalation this afternoon. The risk picture remains elevated, however, and the period approaching this evening requires continued vigilance.
